Q - How do standards get started? -
A - Standards come from the industry itself. If we start hearing stories of, I need this to make sure I can prove to my customers I'm safe or I am performing in a certain way, we need to put those together. - Aaron Prather
As soon as we discover the problem, it’s then building a team of experts from numerous parts of the ecosystem to start then putting pen to paper and actually writing a standard that everyone can agree to and then goes to a vote. If it's passed and accepted by the industry, it will become a published standard that is out there now for everyone to use. - Aaron Prather
Governance and Regulation and Standards are not Bad.
Limits and bounds and restrictions actually drive innovation and creativity, not stifle it. Customers and the public are looking for assurance, safety, and validation of the trust they've put in us. Sometimes, that calls for a standard or regulation.
Regulations, Standards, Governance. = Better outcomes. Safer for people.
