Start Small

One thing that's good for robotics education is simulation. Robots are generally really, really expensive, and simulation is just a computer that you probably already have. - Katherine (Kat) Scott

The biggest problem I see is people biting off more than they can chew. Start small. You don't necessarily have to learn it all at once. There's lots of different ways to start. But start small. - Katherine (Kat) Scott

Robotics is an amazing amalgamation of technologies, software, hardware, electrical, mechanical engineering, and more. And unlike pure software, the work 'touches' and engages directly with the real world.

And there are a number of ways to get started. Start small, pick a project, and start learning a building.

Kat will be participating in a panel 'Standardizing the Future: Developing Frameworks for Safe and Ethical Humanoid Robot Integration' at the Humanoids Summit at the Computer History Museum this week. I'll be interviewing more roboticists.

If you're in Mountain View, CA, check it out.
