We're in the middle of a Cambrian explosion in robotics - Andra Keay

The market has decided that they need robots. They need robots to replace absent workers in factories, fast food joints, pretty much across the board. - Andra Keay

There are simply not enough robots out there. We have never had greater demand for robots, and it's never been harder for a small robotics company to find funding and to grow. But we certainly see a market that wants robots now. - Andra Keay

The absent worker problem is pervasive. Robots can help.

To replace absent workers in just about every industry, most often purpose built with a easily identifiable and quantifiable opportunity. Like stacking pallets. Watching them work is kind of like watching paint dry, and that's the point. Consistent, not exciting (I was on a large, high, mis-stacked trailer of 70lb hay bails, rolling over a bumpy field, exciting in a bad way)

You can get into robotics from just about any angle. It's built around the problem. See something you want to build a robot to do better? Most everything is teachable from there.

I really enjoy my times in the with Alex Dantas and team Circuit Launch and the extended robotics community up and down 880. Oakland to Bay Fair, cities close to my heart as they were the start of my Bay Area adventures many moons ago, to Berkeley, and more.
